Can the international Red-Green Alliance really be considered center-left?
If the “Red” is the Socialist aspect and the “Green” is the environmentalist aspect, what is center about these two elements when they both hate corporations and capitalism?
They and their liberal supporters around the world and here in America refer to themselves as “center-left”.
Either you have the colors confused or I do. Green is the favorite color of the Hezbollah and Hamas, as examples. What the exact symbolism is I’m not sure. That “revolution” is the main force driving both factions is unquestionable. And it’s not just corporations and capitalism. With 8 countries currently simmering and preparing to do an “Egypt”, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Emirates are extremely concerned, as they know they are certainly next. What the leftist news media DOESN’T and won’t report, are the eerily similar situations in so many countries. Syria just suppressed a demonstration, with typical force, because they can. But it won’t be over yet. The organizers finish in Egypt they move on to the next “target”. Algeria, Morocco, Yemen and whoever. By years end, the entire balance of the Middle East will be forever altered.
